Below I pasted a link to a 2 page pdf sketch of my concept.
Instead of a basic hole in the wall pass through on a bearing wall I would like to make the opening bigger. In the sketch I have two 112" beams acting as a header and the other as the sill. One side of beam pair has the king and jack stud combination but the other side has a post set in 20 inches from end. The post I imagine myself securing it to beams with metal brackets; buckling of post and beams would be problematic, maybe jack/kingstud side would prevent any rotation of beams? If someone could comment on the concept please.
